Vintage (probably 1950s) lavishly embroidered panel. 44″ wide with three 16″ deep scallops across the width and a rod pocket across the top, indicating this was likely used as a pelmet above a window or in a doorway. Wouldn’t it be lovely above a kitchen sink or even in a bedroom?
The embroidery is expertly worked and very colorful against the beige fabric backing, with the stitch choices creating a great deal of texture. Colors are nice and bright. 1/2″ deep hand crocheted edging along the bottom edge.
A lovely, very usable gift for anyone who loves needlework and vintage textiles! Machine wash on the gentle cycle (hot water can be used) without bleach for many years of delight.
