GALA is styled after Japan couching metal threads, but this version is strong, supple and completely stitchable, not to mention it can be dry cleaned! It works best on 12-14 mesh canvas but can be used for long stitches on 18 canvas. Tent stitch is not recommended as longer stitches showcase the “string of beads” effect to best effect but it’s also perfect for couching in the Japanese style on projects where real metal thread is unsuitable. Gala is also suitable for knitting.
Fiber content: 86% Viscose, 9% Pure Silver and 5% Paper. Packaged as a 10-yard twist skein and available in both Gold and Silver.
