Victorian Berlin Work Pattern Plates

$22.00

Part of my Private Collection series, this booklet contains reproductions of 28 color pattern plates from 19th century Germany. Berlin Work (or Berlin Woolwork) patterns are noted for lush florals, geometric repeats and borders, fanciful animals and scenic motifs. The originals were hand-painted onto graph paper and delighted Victorian stitchers with their vivid colors, to be reproduced in wool and accented with beads. Since these are charted designs, they are perfect for needlepoint, counted cross stitch and beadwork and the charts use whole stitches.  As was typical of antique patterns, no thread colors or numbers as a color key are offered.

VICTORIAN BERLIN WORK PATTERN PLATES is a 31 page full-color book, printed on heavy paper with glossy cardstock covers. Each page has an oversized reproduction of the original antique Berlin Work pattern sheet. There are 145 different charted motifs. If out of stock, your order will be shipped from the printer in about 2 weeks, at no additional charge.
