c1820 figural ivory fretwork wheelbarrow pin cushion

This circa 1820 figural genuine ivory pin cushion is carved in the shape of a wheelbarrow with a moveable front wheel! It’s hand carved from very thin ivory into two sides which are joined at the front by a small wheel; the pincushion still has the original blue-green silk.

The condition is excellent, free of chips or cracks; the only flaw is some stitch loss to the beige silk twist thread that attaches the padded pincushion part to the ivory sides. It measures about 2-1/4″ long by 1″ high and 5/8″ thick at the deepest part.
