“New Embroidery” Charted Patterns from 1870 Book 1
$14.95
21 Borders – 16 Motifs – 13 Alphabets – 4 Sets of Numbers – All charted on graph paper.
These beautiful designs featuring classic motifs and borders are typical of the “new” lighter style that became popular in the second half of the 19th century. Small booklets– in this instance, 3-1/2” by 5-1/4”– held accordion-pleated pages with patterns and alphabets and were sized to tuck into a needleworker’s bag. The patterns in this book are part of a series published by H. K. Berlin SW in Germany from the 1860s to the 1880s. These patterns can be worked in simple cross stitches and backstitches accented with the occasional Smyrna cross or Eyelet stitch (stitch diagrams included).
Softcover book (6″ x 8-1/4″) with 35 pages. All patterns are clearly charted on graph paper, suitable for needlepoint and counted cross stitch. If there aren’t any copies in stock, your book will be backordered and shipped from the printers in about 2 weeks at no additional charge.
