large hand carved bone 19th century silk thread barrel

Circa 1840, this large silk thread barrel is about 1-1/4″ across the top and 1-1/4″ high. The chrysanthemum flower lid is deeply carved as is the band around the body of the barrel; it opens and closes easily and has the original spindle for the thread. In excellent condition.
