Johann Sibmacher’s New Model Book: Charted Patterns for Needlepoint & Counted Cross Stitch
$14.95
These patterns by Johan Sibmacher were first published in the late 1500s; the plates in this book date from a 1884 German reprint of the 1604 edition. All 36 original “pattern plates” or book pages are reproduced here, each charted on graph paper.
The classic designs have been used in lacemaking and embroidery for centuries, and include a mix of medieval figures, animals and fanciful mythological creatures in addition to detailed geometric patterns and borders. Designs charted on graph paper are a universal language which can be translated into needlepoint and counted cross stitch, with each square on the pattern representing a single stitch. At the back of the book is a page of plain graph paper you can use to create your own adaptations.
Softcover book (6″ x 8-1/4″) with 43 pages. All patterns are clearly charted on graph paper, suitable for needlepoint and counted cross stitch. If this title shows as out-of-stock, it will be backordered and shipped from the publisher in about 2 weeks, at no additional charge.
