circa 1890 Coats Anchor Floss display cabinet
Circa 1890, this fabulous solid wood Coat’s Anchor Cotton Floss 5 drawer display case folds up to take up very little space and is sturdy enough for every day use.
Closed, it measures 8″ deep by 22″ wide and 6-1/2″ high; fully open, it’s 22″ wide by 22-1/2″ deep and 11″ high. The top lids lifts open and the bottom drawer pulls out; both can be used without fully opening the cabinet. The 3 middle sections can only be accessed once the cabinet is fully extended. Each section measures 21″ wide by 7″ deep and has multiples slots for dividers; there are 11 wooden dividers included so you can arrange them to your liking.
The condition is very good. There are a few scratches on the top lid (which also features heavy nail head decorations). some wear to the lacquer finish and a sprinkling of white dots that may be paint. The decal of the Coats label has slight wear. It opens and closes easily and everything is solid and sturdy. Ones I’ve seen similar to this had glass tops, which were almost always broken, so the heavy lid is a very nice touch.
This may be shipped by UPS due to size and weight.
