circa 1830 ornate carved MOP thread or silk spool holder

A large ornately carved natural mother of pearl thread or silk spool dating from around 1830, and likely once part of an expensive sewing box. The matching ends are 1-1/4″ across with crisp etched detailing, with the entire spool 1-1/4″ high. One end should unscrew to allow a thread spool to be slid on, but it is stuck.
In very good condition with light wear.
