“Choice Designs” for Cross Stitch Embroidery

$18.00

These charming patterns are typical of the monochrome or silhouette style designs popular in the later part of the 19th century; the original antique book they are reproduced from is dated 1880. This collection is an eclectic assortment of naturalistic and stylized designs, including 64 different motifs, 12 alphabets and 35 borders and corners.

I’ve completely re-drawn and enlarged the 44 pattern plates (or pages) for clarity, capturing the unusual woven “graph paper” effect of the originals. You can use the charts to create your own designs, or use the individual pattern plates as mini samplers. Designs charted on graph paper are a universal language which can be translated into needlepoint, counted cross stitch and beadwork, with each square on the pattern representing a single stitch.
