c1900 pierced brass velvet lined scissors sheath SOLD
The brass of this small scissors sheath has aged to an almost rose-gold tone and the velvet lining that shows through the brass filigree is a deep burgundy shade. The sheath hangs from it’s original chatelaine chain and measures 2-1/8″ long by 3/4″ wide at the top opening by 3/16″ deep. The chain adds another 3 inches.
It’s in excellent condition overall. The velvet at the opening has discolored a bit, and one chain has been repaired with a new circle connecting link, but it’s a good match color-wise.
The velvet lining makes the opening quite snug and only a scissors with a small, narrow blade will fit. But you could wear it on a chain like a pendant and use it to hold an awl or short laying tool instead.
