c1860 Iroquois “Whimsey” large 10″ star-shaped pincushion

Circa 1860 Iroquois beadwork “Whimsy” very large six point star-shaped pincushion measuring nearly 10″ across and featuring a pitcher and floral motif. The glass beads are a mix of typical seed beads and chunkier tubular beads similar to bugle beads. Very nice condition overall, firmly stuffed. The colors are somewhat more muted than they appear in the pictures.

The beading is all intact except for a few points along the outer edges. The magenta velvet underneath the beadwork is in good shape but the taupe velvet on the edges shows some wear. Blue cotton fabric covers the back.
