c1900 embroidery monogram copper stencils kit
$36.00
Small cardboard box dating from about 1900 filled with copper monogram stencils, a piece of blue ink (for transferring the monogram pattern) and a brush (for “pouncing” on the ink). The monograms are elaborate script “display” or capital initials except for one of the two “V”s which is lowercase. Most letters are about 3/4″ high.
Box measure 3-3/4″ by 5-1/2″ by 3/4″ high and has age-appropriate wear and fading but the charming graphic on the lid has held up nicely.
The stencils are flat, thin sheets of copper metal and vary in size, but all are small and average 1″ to 1-1/2″ wide by 1-1/2″ to 1-3/4” high. Letters included are A, B, C, D (3 styles), E, F, G, H, K, M, N, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, v (lower case) and W– 22 in all. All bear signs of use but are in otherwise good, usable condition. Made in Germany.
