c1890 carved wood and bone acorn-form thimble case w/ Stanhope viewer

Circa 1890 carved wood and bone acorn-form thimble case with a Stanhope viewer. The body is a dark wood with carved swirls on the cap. The finial is carved bone with the Stanhope viewer set into it (I cannot identify the scene in the viewer). 3″ high and 1-1/2″ across at the widest point. Very good condition with minor marks from age and use. The only flaw is that the top does not screw tightly onto the base although it does sort of snap into place.
