c1880 Canton hand carved bone awl or stiletto

$24.00

Circa 1880 hand carved bone awl or stiletto, used for creating holes in fabric for eyelet embroidery and other techniques. Probably made in Canton, China as part of a set of tools intended for tourist trade or export. Nice detailing with a cross-hatched motif on the head.

2-7/8″ long in very good condition, very smooth and sturdy enough to use daily (I have one I use to enlarge canvas holes).
