Antique hand carved bone Nordic lucet (a tool used to make braids or cording) dating from around 1800– one appraiser thought it might be even older and dated it to the early 1700s.
2″ tall by 1-1/4″ wide and quite thick at more than 1/16″ so it is very sturdy. The bovine bone is a deep creamy beige with dark graining, detailed carvings and a very smooth finish. In excellent condition.
