bird & flowers motifs 19th century carved bone silk thread barrel

Circa 1840, this medium-sized silk thread barrel is about 1″ across the middle and 1″ high (excluding the spindle). The bird and flower motifs are deeply carved around the body of the barrel. The lid opens and closes easily but the spindle for the thread is loose and not original. In excellent condition.
