vintage cross stitch embroidered tablecloth with crochet edging
Vintage (probably 1960s-70s) hand embroidered panel, most likely intended as a tablecloth or daybed cover. Cross stitches are worked in red and black cotton floss with hand crocheted red trim; the very pale pink ground fabric is thick with textured ribbing, and feels like cotton. The fabric is such a pale pink that under most light it appears to be a cream color, not pink. Patterns look to be traditional Eastern European, possibly Ukrainian or Romanian, with a large oval motif in the center and a triangle at each corner.
