19th century walnut form sewing tape measure
$62.00
Antique sewing tools were made in a variety of fanciful shapes; acorns are very common (and among my favorites) but this is the first walnut I’ve found.
It’s very close to actual size, about 1-1/2″ high and made from lacquered papier mache. The condition is excellent except for slight edge fraying on the first few inches of the tape. The white blotches in some photos are light reflections off the very shiny shellac coating.
