19th c gilt Roman soldier chatelaine w/ 5 accessories

Unusual late 19th century gilt-metal sewing chatelaine featuring a Roman soldier in profile and two coin-like discs on a beaded medallion on the hinged waist clip with 5 matching appendages with heavy floral embossing. No hallmarks found. Overall, the metal looks like a soft golden brass shade.

12″ high overall. The needle case measures about 2-1/4″ long, the scissors sheath is 2-1/8″ high, the red velvet-lined thimble bucket is 7/8″ tall, the tape measure case is 1-1/8″ across and the book-form pincushion is 1-1/2″ by 1-1/4″. The waist clip measures about 2-3/4″ high and wide.

Excellent condition overall, tape measure tape has loss of several inches and is fragile at the exposed end with a metal loop. Would benefit from thorough cleaning by a jeweler.
