1992 Book of the Wash dressmaking with patterns (antique reproduction)

1992 oversize (10-1/2″ by 13-1/2″) hardcover book Das Buch der Wasche (The Book of Laundry) is a reprint from the late 19th century. “Wasche” doesn’t just refer to washing clothes (although there is a section on ironing and folding!), but more the making and embellishing of clothes and home decorations. Wonderfully detailed illustrations of everything from undergarments to children’s clothes, plus 6 large fold-out sheets with patterns for sewing garments. 4 pages of charted alphabets and sayings, several pages of monograms for embroidery. 92 pages, lavishly illustrated.
