1960s set of 3 embroidered hot mats with crocheted edgings

Lovely, vintage set of 3 table hot mats hand embroidered with yellow flowers and a trellis pattern. The embroidery is sort of a slipcover over a thick leatherette backed mat (about 1/8″ thick) with a felt-like top that keeps the embroidery from shifting; the embroidered tops are held in place with a ribbon loop, so they are easy to remove and wash.

The fabric is a natural slightly textured linen, embroidered with cotton floss and edged with a crocheted picot border. The two smaller mats are about 7″ by 8″, the larger measures 8″ by 10″.

In excellent condition, these don’t appear to have ever been used.
