1940s pair of bronze-gold celluloid buttons with incised design
This pair of striking vintage 1940s celluloid buttons features a web-like motif deeply incised at their center. Each measures 1-1/2″ across and are nearly 1/8″ thick.
The color is a marbled burnished bronze-gold, slightly iridescent with a black underside and edges. The pattern is deeply scored and there are two sew-through holes.
The buttons are in excellent condition with little to no sign of wear. Old celluloid can be fragile so I’d recommend removing the buttons before washing or dry cleaning. Store so that the buttons can “breathe” (i. e., not tightly sealed in a plastic bag) to prevent deterioration.
Offered as a matched pair.
