1925 Kathleen Norton’s embroidery sampler

Kathleen Norton’s dated 1925 embroidery sampler has a great variety of embroidery stitches worked with perle cotton on a rustic non-eveweave linen fabric. 10-1/4″ by 17-1/2″ with hems on all 4 sides secured with many different styles of buttonhole stitches. Probably English in origin, as the style is very typical of the 20s– it may have been a school project with each section having been a session of study or simply someone’s creative arrangement.

In excellent condition, the perle is brightly colored and still very shiny.
