1860s Berlin Work alphabets & motifs pattern booklet

These mid-19th century “Berlin Work” pattern charts would have originally been a single, accordion-fold-out sheet attached to a cover. They are double-sided with one side featuring the color charts and the reverse the blue alphabet and geometric motifs. 14 different patterns in all. Similar to the classic French Sajou patterns but printed in Germany. Each section measures 2-3/4″ by 4″ overall.

Condition of the pages is good with expected wear from age and use. The paper has a high rag content so it is still quite soft and flexible rather than brittle. The cover is printed on a thinner paper and is so brittle the front half has shattered into pieces.
