11 antique Casaguildi Lace embroidered napkinslinen napkins 10-1/2″ square
$65.00
Eleven, 10-1/2″ square pure linen napkins, purported to have been brought to America in the 1920s or 30s from Ireland as part of a bridal trousseau. Narrow hemstitched border around all 4 sides with a heavily textured figural insert in one corner.
Very lightweight linen fabric, similar to a handkerchief weight and nearly translucent with a crisp, almost starched feel after drying. The twisted thread use for the lace insert is slightly darker (almost a flaxen beige shade) than the light cream color of the fabric.
Set of 11 in excellent condition, sturdy enough for daily use and frequent washing. I’ve soaked and hand washed them, then allowed each to dry flat so there are a few wrinkles but they are ready to use and enjoy.
